Working from memory, as of the last report from IDC, AMD had slightly over 50% of the U.S. micro market. Not that I live and die with IDC data, as it is rarely anything other than optimistic.

Whether that figure is "stale" or whether it is up or down over the last month (which would not surprise me given Intel's semi-weekly price cuts)is irrelevent to my point which is that a tiny competitor pulled off one of the biggest market share heists in history, and they did it courtesy of the vaunted church of Intel. Splitting hairs does not change that rather huge fact.
