It was a tiny 50 cc scooter that he used to go from school to his job as a vet assistant. Not usually thought of as more reckless than a bicycle. I should have been clearer on that. Of course you can be sure he wishes he would have had his feet firmly planted on the ground and no where near the street.

You just can't be too careful and yet things happen. You, my wife, this kid were definitely innocent victims minding your own business, when you were hurt. Some people in some situations, really are victims. I think my wife finally let me quit begging her to marry me, when I told her it was time to get on with life, wheel chair and all. She stopped having dreams about being held hostage after that.

<<Did your eventual friendship help you understand his bitterness and did he understand your inability to accept his rage? Sounds like hell on earth to me.>> Yes, I came to understand his frustration, without necessarily supporting his thinking that anyway he chose to treat others was always justified by his loss. He eventually got to the place where he could say sorry when he saw how much I was struggling with it. It was one of the few words he could verbalize and it took great concentration and effort to do so. I would have to sit down and it took him several minutes to get it out.

There are all kinds of things that carry similar characteristics as head trama. The loss of rational ability can be like a developmental disability, the disorientation can be like schizophrenia, the chemical imbalances can be like emotional disturbance but none of these things carry the wait that is added by being normal and yet a victim of head trauma. The very associations people innocently but mistakenly make cause outrage to the victim. A head trauma victim is not crazy, not retarded, not disturbed. They are a person with a debilitating injury. Anyway that's what little I have come to understand about it and as an outsider I may still be full of shit.

I leave my window open to get a cross breeze all the time btw, and will continue to do so. Because of my Religion I've received bomb threats. Because of my big mouth, I've had my ass kicked...several times (big surprise, huh). I will not compromise my principles though I know it has caused me to loss jobs and relationships. That was yesterday, I'm moving on. I will live a good life and deal with the sucky stuff when ever I need too. Such is my life and that's OK, and tomorrow there are marvels I have not even considered yet.

I know when I get my self in really deep doo doo I also find that sometimes I go through cool life changes that I am greatful for. Are there any cool things that you've come to realize that you would never have considered if not for your situation?
