While we are waiting for the MM's to bring the price down to the buying range, I noticed that Home Depot is now carrying the Maple Chase smoke detectors with Ultralife's battery. They are wanting $15.29 for them. For the same smoke detector with a zinc carbon battery they are asking $11.75. For the smoke detector with Ultralife's battery about 27 out of 40 had been sold and with the zing carbon battery about 30 out of 40 had been sold. I based this on the empty slots in the shipping cartons that are used for the displays. There was no ad telling the consumer how much longer a lithium ion battery would out last a zinc carbon or alkaline batteries.
