I agree.

The blue/black/grey/white/red combination is a very professional look... effective, natural, and appropriate colors for SI...

I like your idea of using different shades of blue and grey and keeping the other colors one shade only.

It's not a good idea to use red. It really freaks some people out. It's always been amazing.

As I said on the first day the color choices were introduced, I think the Profile page's blue and gray is fine as long as the brown remnants -- including the background shade, the lines in the header, and the unclicked link color -- are changed to the new palette.

I actually like the brown background shade, but it doesn't work well with the gray highlight color. Better to drop all the browns.
