Sorry, but we can't find the document you requested

Been using Beta SI until about 1 week ago until I found that I was unable
to log into the beta. I sent the following error message and the url used
to the beta reply 3 times, and so far no reply back, and error still happens,
as below was gotten 2 minutes ago. Using Opera browser under Windows 3.1
and AOL 4.0. Thanks

This could be the result of an expired query, an old link, or incorrect HTML. If you believe you have reached this page in error, please email us at webmaster@siliconinvestor.com. Please indicate the URL of the page you were requesting as well as any other related information.

Hi Jeff,

RE: SI racetrack painting logo

The smaller, black & white version looks fine on the new home page but why is this same smaller, colorless <g> logo found on the *StockTalk* home page as well?

beta.siliconinvestor.com

I think the original, colorful design which appears on the old StockTalk home page should appear on the new StockTalk home page.

techstocks.com

IMO, too much of the illustration has been cut - only 3 people are portrayed - Uncle Sam and the martini trio are missing! So is the guy picking critters off the other guy's head and the two white shirted stiffs who are airing their armpits! [Note: V.'s artistic interpretation may vary from that of other users'.]

As you said, the original logo is on the tshirts and is really the only part of the old SI that has immediate recognition as the rest of the interface has drastically changed with the beta. With so much discussion of color on the new site (much appreciated), seems like this would be the only spot where a lot of color would look really great (and I picked the 'profile' or 'news' designs which are quite subdued!).

Perhaps the tan rectangular area on the beta ST homepage containing the word "StockTalk" in blue and the SEARCH button could be changed to accomodate the old logo as follows:

1) Shift the blue "StockTalk" word up

2) Enlarge the tan rectangular area in width slightly by moving the brown "FORUM" stuff down a bit on the page

3) Move the SEARCH box and its 3 options below the "StockTalk" word to the lower left of the tan rectangle.

This would leave the right side of the tan rectangle blank and the old, bigger, colorful, recognizable, comforting <g> racetrack gif could be put in there!!

C'mon... you don't want to have to print up a bunch of new SI tshirts in black and white with only 3 heads on it, do you? ;)

If you can make this happen, I'd be much obliged, Kind Sir! ;)

You might want to clean up the lines a little on the party logo on the home page.

The style and message are great, it just needs a face lift to translate to black and white.

The older color graphic made it obvious they were sipping martinis.

Now it looks like the woman on the right is a bit peeved the other two are trash-talking her stock and she's stuffing olives up their noses.

errr, may be now it's closer to the real SI?
