Skeeter, re: "losing money on the JV" Could be a case of losing money on the products made by the entity but not losing money on the investment in the entity. Once you factor in SG&A & R&D, yeah, tough to see how they made money on the products themselves. From their Q299 10-Q: Other operating expense for the second quarter of 1999 includes a $15 million charge to write down certain flat panel display assets, $5 million of loss recognized on joint venture investments... There's no similar reference in the Notes section for Q399 in yesterday's filing. What was that loss referred to in the 2Q99 Notes really about? Why did they "recognize" it then? Can you say that the absence of similar language this time around means there was no loss? I don't know. Good trading, Tom
