on beware of things so obvious

we as QCOM stockholders are benefiting from grossly low estimates on Q earnings & sales... grossly low growth rates for CDMA-based handsets... grossly low growth rates for adoption of wireless generally

grossly conservative timetables when
integration of handheld PC's with wireless modems is achieved... when handheld PC sales will equal desktop PC's... when landline phones will be displaced in large numbers by wireless (no area code) phones... when CDMA achieves broadband speeds for modems... when the wireless platform will be cultivated with applications (email, webclips, synchronization)... when GSM hits the wall governed by laws of physics

gross underestimation of technology developmts that bridge the gaps from LUCENT... what huge new product will these guys produce next?

this is spells big profits in the supposed efficient market... matching of buyers and sellers is efficient... accuracy of the information we act upon is the flaw

Mike we are on a roll here. Look, I don't debate that you can make money on a great stock like Q which is still undervalued in my book and especially since the momentum guys are on our side. But the second you start thinking you can time tomorrows move, you will eventually make a mistake...and it will probably be a big one because you'll be so confident over past success. You can lose all those earlier gains and then some.

Inefficiencies happen all the time, agreed...like back in August and October...and when Q was at $70 pre split. But those of us who have been with the Q for more than 3 years made very little headway during that time by convincing ourselves that the market was "inefficent". If the Ericsson thing came out differently or dragged on another year (and it very well could have)...none of us would be so smart right now.

Just keep the emotions in check and hang on to the great companies. Let the gamblers play the prediction games.
