Jeff, I don't know if post 7944 has any merit, but it is exactly this issue that has caused me to take some profits and reduce my bet. I think that the main purpose of the STB is to allow the cable companies to sign up the customer for digital TV services and have access to other services, primarily internet, e-mail and VOD in that order. SFA and GIC of course want their STB to work with any possible VOD model. Is it possible that the ccur and seac VOD model will be a temporary model and the cable companies will migrate to the internet delivery model?

I know one thing for sure is that millions of STB's will be sold and that is why I directed a significant amount of my ccur money to SFA. Also, if jp is right, then a significant amount of memory will be sold. Maybe one should start looking at the depressed drive companies.

It would be nice if someone knowledgeable would discuss this issue and if the internet delivery model is not feasible, explain to us why in layman words. Goodboy? Ken?
