I'm with you.

I'm not with the stock (yet) though,,, this being an archtypical case of the gossip on this thread having (temporarily) overcome my usually-sound instinct to buy into *anything* that gets me off. (I ain't easy, you know :))

My Ricochet is perched atop a tiny Sony PictureBook. Took it out in the convertible yesterday --- it kept lit well beyond the promised coverage area (mid-town Manhattan). Took lots of pictures of girls and emailed them on the spot --- I'll be able to assess next week on how many 'replies" I get :))

Suffice it to say we're the first on our block,,, (in your case, from what you say, you're the first on your couch). My gut says that Paul Allen and WCOM are playing for keeps,,, a dual-band upstream/downstream configuration would have it run (assymetrically) like ADSL. "Primitive" as it is, it still beats the socks off the data rate I've been getting with my GSM phone.

The stock --- I'll watch a while,,, prepared to trigger in as soon as the current sporting activity settles down (or up).

SF friends have been high on Ricochet for a couple of years, already. I'm pleased as punch to see it here in the Apple.

(I just have to get the "long life battery" for the Sony Vaio --- thing costs more than the modem :))

best of luck, pioneer man!
