Paul,

It sounds like AMD is going to get stuck pricing the K7 against the
Celeron. Intel will soon have the 550 MHz Celeron out and this
will probably knock the 550 MHz K7 down in price like the 500 MHz
version. Their only hope is to stay ahead of the Celeron in
speed (and get somebody to make a PC for the K7).

Has anybody announced a K7 PC? If not, where are all the 500 MHz
parts going to end up? (assuming they are making a bunch as we
speak)

They are trying.

I heard that they have cut the price of 500 MHz athLATEs to just a
little over $200 - the 550 MHz about double that and the 600MHz
athLATE is priced very high indicating a very small bin split to the
600 MHz spec.
