Is the Diamond purchase done by issuing new shares?

Have to rethink this one properly. I forgot one thing.

If new shares are issued. In Dec 98, Diamond has about 35M shares. 0.52*35M= 18.2M shares. 18.2M new shares would severely dilute existing 57M shares 18.2/57=32% new shares, that's not very good. Wonder if Rioport sale will fetch enough cash to at least make the dilution bearable?

I sure hope SIII uses some of that UMC shares to complete the DIMD acquisition, and not issue new shares... But UMC is down quite a bit (14%?) since that mini crisis started. The timing's gonna be tricky.

Scared but Hopeful, you are wrong about INTC's Whitney,it is dead in the water. It is not scalable, nor removable, nor adaptable. Whatever Whitney is its gonna be forever. The Savage4 has tremendous growth potential, and integration with DIMD Viper770 boards is gonna kick some serious ass not only in price but in performance. The Savage4 is a damn good chip, and DIMD has some excellent boards, notably the Viper770. It would not be hard for good management to integrate all of SIII's products into DIMD's. UMC I believe makes flash memory, which they could integrate with DIMD's RIO cutting out another middleman. DIMD's Homefree PNA system is the best on the market and cheapest,it also blows away INTC's PC anywhere in price(half the price). DIMD has to come up with a better wireless networking product, which is could easily by making a better antenna that is external to the board. There is some easy modifications to make DIMD's wireless product good if not superior to everything except Proxim's. But Proxim's is significantly more expensive than DIMD's.
It is gonna be a cake walk to turn around SIII/DIMD. I wish I had that job,it would be easier than getting Rosie O'Donnell to eat a chicken sandwich.
