CGarcia,

Welcome here, and first allow me pay my condolence to those unfortunate things happened to you recently, I have read it on the AOL thread.

Open access on cable, short term wise (2~3 years), is more of a technical issue than policy (or political) issue, imo. Force open is pure intended to delay the broadband deployment by RBOCs and their associates, it has nothing to do with fairness. Nobody over here can help you with ATHM stock price for it could keep dropping (I hope not), but over this thread, you could at least learn a few FACTS.

When the street realizes open access doesn't mean declining, but rather increasing revenues...

If you're referring to open access taking place now (as opposed to three to ten years in the future), I agree about the short term. In the long term, I couldn't disagree more.

And it's not just revenues we're talking about here. It's also profit margins and customer retention. The sooner open access becomes a reality, the less time ATHM has to develop highly competitive content that makes the difference between having fast, dumb pipes and fast, smart pipes.
