uncle,

When estimating what the DRAM market might be, don't get worked up about a few million, it was the jump from $43B in '01 to $100B in '02 that is ridiculous IMHO. That guy must have smoked some of that Tibetan stuff or eaten some bad Yak cheese! <gg>

But you are right, who knows, and the DRAM market in '02 could be $200B, but I kind of doubt it.

Quite a bit of difference even within DataQuest....

Even the notorious DRAM market will behave, according to the SIA's predictions. Corrigan hedged slightly in saying that the market is expected to increase 25-to -35% annually during the next three years. "The DRAM roller-coaster effect is occurring right now as the segment is expected to decline 24% this quarter," he said. Nonetheless, the SIA is expecting the global DRAM market to increase 25% this year."

============================

He remains optimistic about the near future of the DRAM market, predicting a revenue peak of $43bn (£27bn) in 2001, although this will be followed by another price crash in 2002.
