I think LEAP investing is a cheap way to own a stock that you will want to own forever, but only having to pay a portion of the cost until expiration approaches.

Say for the Q, a 2002 80 LEAP would cost ~$90. Therefore risking only $90 for the potential appreciation from now until 2002. Lots of ups and downs, but over the long run the gorilla Q will likely provide huge upside.
