On expiration Friday, July, 1994, Microsoft closed at $48.625 and has split 8:1 since then.

That is of course if he sold in July... if he sold before May '94 he missed out on yet another spilt and would now have had 13,600 shares.

BTW, in my earlier comment I meant to say he was attempting to TIME the markets not "tame" them... <g>
