I think the company and people hyping this stock are playing on unfounded fears about security. Unfortunately, that has nothing to do with reality. I don't think there is anything that CUST will provide which is more secure than what we have today. And people today are comfortable with current levels of security.

Are people worried about security when they call up a merchant and give their credit card number over the phone? No.

Are people worried about security when they make a purchase at a web site and give their credit card number online? No. In fact, SSL is more secure than the phone call.

Credit card fraud costs the credit card companies millions if not billions of dollars per year. But that's always been a problem even before Internet commerce. And I don't think there have been any significant cases of credit card fraud perpetrated on the Internet. CUST will not solve the credit card fraud problem.

So what problem are they trying to solve? As far as I'm concerned, they are only trying to capitalize on unfounded concerns about security. But that is now passe. People have gotten over the fear of transacting online commerce. Witness the explosion in online sales. Maybe if CUST came out with a product a few years ago they could be successful, but I think it's too little too late for them.

This really is too funny, a short using Abelson to juice a losing long position. What's next?

White Rock also used Herb Greenberg (thestreet.com) to tout CUST. Made Herb look like an idiot, imho.

BG,

If Abelson's buddy is a partner with White Rock (I cannot remember if that was in the article), I do believe they accumulated almost a million shares around 10. I think I read somewhere that they doubled their position when the stock crashed down from the 90's, but cannot be sure. I think they now own something like 1.7 million shares, but once again I don't know if this is completely accurate. If not, I think its close.

Therefore, I doubt they are underwater.
