Saving a bit of disk space...

When you delete the .TMP files, don't forget the temporary folders too.

In Outlook Express, don't forget to compact your folders with Files/Folder/Compact all folders.

In Explorer you can empty the cache with View/Internet Options... and Delete files button. You can clear history while you're at it.

Check that your Swap File Experimenting hasn't left you with any additional copies of WIN386.SWP hanging around. You only need one. Use "DIR *.SWP /V" in DOS window to determine which is the newest and delete the older copies.

In C:\ your root directory, hidden files SYSTEM.1ST and USER.1ST is a copy of the registry when you first booted your system. Yes, your registry is spread over more than one file. If you're like most people, your system is so different today than when you first used it, these files are of no use whatsoever. Typically it's a meg or two.

While you're in your root directory, you can get rid of the .LOG files created when your system was installed and first run. Although they're indispensable if you have trouble loading and running Windows the first time, once your system's OK, they're wasting disk space.

You can also "DIR *.TXT /S" and find a dozen or so text files loaded by windows. Some of these contain useful reference stuff, while some tell you about things which have nothing to do with your system. You may choose to delete those which do not apply to your needs.

Don't forget to empty your Recycle Bin.

Hope this helps, PW.
