ALso to include is the fact that now an ISP can offer service to a much wider audience regardless of access type. Right now, dial-up is the huge method, so a cable only ISP has decided not to compete unless it has access. If AOL could grab, or try to grab, some of that access pipe, it would demonstrate the value to the consumer the value of open access right now. There might be an immediate lower access fee, set up fee, and cable modem fee just in time for Christmas, for example. There is one way, that openness would spread for more T cable usage. That is why I do not understand T fighting openness so much.
