id,

Super-Express and Da Slinger are for use exclusively with Datek.

They let you load up several orders on the screen at once and once you enter your password you are not required to do it every time you place an order (occasionally the system times out though). Makes it much quicker for daytrading. The web page is framed so that order entry stays in the top frame while all Datek pages for confirmation, etc are in the bottom frame.

I haven't tried Da Slinger yet (it is about $30 shareware, Super Express is free) but it has some useful features like being able to switch between several Datek express servers if there are problems. Also has a button to inc or dec the price you've inputed without re-keying new numbers. Great for those of us who shadow Level 2 and then....pull the trigger!

Check them out...it's poor-man's daytrading but works very well.

Paul

id, this your alter-ego speaking (sorry, couldn't help it :).

Turns out that I've used Fido, Datek, and DaSlinger. Regarding DaSlinger, as far as I know, it can only be used with Datek. Pretty nice product; much better than the standard Datek U/I's.

Regarding Fido and Datek, I didn't like either. Fido was slow and expensive. Datek provides much faster executions (sometimes) and is much lower cost. But... Datek is inconsistent. Sometimes executions are fast; sometimes slow. Most of the time, Datek's cancellations are very slow. Very frustrating company to work with.

Recently, CyberCorp reduced their commissions for CyberX to $15.00. Also, they are integrated with QCharts. These two factors motivated me to move to CyberCorp. Executions are very fast and cancellations are almost instantaneous. Great combination.

In any case, best of luck and good trading!

Regards,

Dan.
