Richard--- I am extremely close to the Y2K situation. I have been working with it full time for over a year. It would NOT be surprising to begin seeing more public announcements that the problem is no longer expected to be much more than scattered inconveniences. Most companies and organizations have fixed the majority of potential problems and realized being fully compliant is foolhardy. Being ready with all required fixes is enough. Why fix a program that will soon be replaced anyway if all it does is put the incorrect year on a report that can be changed with a keystroke. Many of the early panic presenters have downplayed the problem and have been watching as companies become ready. The biggest problem will be unnessessary panic among the herds that have no idea what is or has been going on since 1991..... You may be correct but as long as it remains above 25 we are in good shape for a great run at any time.. 32 is in the wings.......
