Nextwave was considered a major opportunity for the Q long ago. Those who joined us this year might notice the bow to Nextwave in the Q thread heading - just for historical interest.

Nextwave could be a major help to the Q in launching robust CDMA based data services in the US.

Well worth a look - if, and when, it emerges on the scene.

There are several reasons that NextWave could choose GSM (UMNT) & one is Vendor Financing, which consideration played a very importamt part in both PrimeCo and WirelessCo (PCS Sprint) excellent technology decisions in 1995.

Question could be moot. NextWave has several obstacles to clear before their reorganization plan is accepted.

Maybe Siemens as bidder reveals the real basis of the Siemens-Qcom rumor? Siemens was interested in negotiating an infra license or otherwise working with Qcom regarding its bid for a seamless 3G.
