Scott:

I do own MSFT for some time now. About a year ago, I said to myself: how could Microsoft double which would take it to a half trillion dollar market cap. Well, history is the answer, and I don't dare to bet against Bill Gates. MSFT has been buying back its won stock, but it is not enough. We can be sure that BG also sees that doubling MSFT stock price will take it to $ 1T, which in the forseeable future is not probable. Hence the tracking stocks. This is the tactics used by General Motors, like GMH - Hughes, GME - EDS , but spun off. SO by having tracking stock(s), MSFT is increasing the cap, yet MSFT remains about constant. The value of MSFT is thus reflected by how many tracking stocks the shareholders will get. Look at what ATT did by spinning of LU and NCR. Monday MSFT reports earnings, and will probably lifts the tech sector. MSFT has never disappointed the street, their accountants make sure of that!!

Best regards,

Paul
