Frank: Like wow! Not only are you clear and helpful but what a discourse. Printed and clicked on "Favorite Places" too for further study.

Agree that Global Crossing has just started "crossing".

What I find most interesting is the possibility of someone or several someones avoiding congestion by using the ocean - particularly international waters to get around such places as India or China if necessary - or around places which have heavy regulation or bottlenecks.

Suggest satellites are interesting for the same reason, but up to now no way can satellites come close to carrying a fiber scale load.

Seems like much might be possible in the future along those lines. The days of the ancien regime in telecom / data transfer are numbered IMO. Dinasours went, so may the hidebound. But with the old entrenched crowd having deep pockets to use, suspect it will take time - probably much time.

As always, best regards, and many thanks.
