I feel it my duty to counter balance the irrational- even in myself. I have taken a solemn vow never to aid baby birds again. I have decided it is better to leave them to nature- where I suppose they might survive, then to take them in and surely kill them- and have to watch them die. It was sentimental and weak of me to try to aid the bird. If I had really been thinking there were only two real options- leaving it, or killing it humanely.
