Suburbia isn't really a musical, but it is centered on music (punk). Somewhat obscure. I think that I am allergic to musicals so I will refrain from giving my input.

Another sci-fi that I liked that I am certain nobody else in the universe liked was "The Fifth Element".

Halloween was more reality based than Nightmare and therefore the fear thing seemed more real. And well, Jamie Lee is Jamie Lee after all<g>.
