Right, and then you will have nowhere to spend your MSFT profits, which you won't have with you in the hereafter anyway. The only way to avoid ever paying taxes is to donate the stock to charity. That's a good thing, too, but meanwhile you still need to live, and I prefer a comfortable life. Spend it judiciously, but please spend it. If you don't ever spend anything because you don't want to pay taxes on sales, eventually you will become consumed with accumulating more and more paper wealth, and that will be all life is about. Not so, not even.
