Dotty, thanks for your Epson 800 information. I'm considering the Epson 900, and will check to see if its ink is waterproof, and let you know. Yes, the cost of the ink has been a problem even for my old HP DeskJet 500's. I've been using the third party refills and syringe refilling process using Skrip ink and have found that that cuts the cost tremendously. But that may be more difficult with Epson and other cartridges-HP has unsuccessfully tried to stop the third party refill kits through litigation.
