Mountain View, CA-July 14, 1999 - Quote.com, Inc. (http://www.quote.com), the network for the investing revolution, today announced that QCharts - its Wall Street-quality investor workstation - has surpassed 5,000 subscribers.
QCharts has enjoyed enormous success since its launch in June 1998, opening up the world of real-time investing to a new set of individual investors who have in the past found other systems too expensive or too hard to use. The company recently announced that QCharts would soon offer integrated point-and click broker trading, a service currently being tested among select QCharts customers.

"The dramatic growth of QCharts over the last year reflects our ability to understand the individual investor and active trader markets, and to deliver products to meet these needs," said Robert Honeycutt, president and CEO of Quote.com. "Quote.com is committed to providing investors and investment professionals with the best in market intelligence, tools and transactions, and we will continue to develop leading edge applications, empowering our customers to take charge of their financial futures."

"With the anticipated growth of online trading, we are pleased to be able to serve all traders, from the day trader to the investment professional," noted Gibbons Burke, Business Director of Active Trader Products at Quote.com.

DATEK After Hours Trading for Individual Investors

Until now, only professional traders and institutions could trade outside of the official market hours of 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM ET. But soon you - the individual investor - can have your Nasdaq limit orders participate in an after hours trading session from 4:00 PM to 5:15 PM ET each business day.

With Datek Online after hours trading, you'll be able to trade after the major markets have closed, when many important news announcements are made. And you'll be trading on one of the fastest growing and most liquid "electronic communications networks" in existence-The Island ECN.

But after hours trading can present some unique risks:
You may encounter wider spreads between bids and offers than during normal hours
You may be competing against professional traders with more information and analysis
Some stocks will be very liquid during after hours sessions; some will not be liquid at all
News stories may have a greater impact on stock prices
Stock prices may appear to be more volatile
Eligibility for After Hours Trading
Datek Online accounts must be enabled for participation in after hours trading sessions. On the Investment Site, you will be able to choose "Enable After Hours" from the account options pull-down menu.
Only Nasdaq stocks will be available for trading during after hours sessions. NYSE and American Stock Exchange stocks are not eligible for after hours trading through Datek Online.
Only limit orders will be accepted for participation in our after hours trading sessions. Market orders and stop orders will not be accepted for after hours trading.
All orders for participation in after hours trading sessions will be represented on The Island ECN, an electronic order-matching system that automatically pairs up limit orders to buy and sell. You may visit Island's website at www.isld.com.
