Excellent points! We definitely need an aggressive advertising campaign...(but no Super Bowl slots please!!) Showing the "extra roll of film analogy is a good one. Now all we need is for Agfa to get their digital Clik! camera to market before the end of September, the start of the Christmas buying season. It would be excellent if the Iomega engineering development team would put together a Zip/Clik! combination drive for PCs that would easily fit into the front of the computer. This or a "caddy" for the Clik! disk that would be read by the millions of Zip drives out there. I know that they filed a patent on such a device, but not sure it is still under development at the Iomega R & D labs. I think that the initial Clik! drives that requires a lot of fiddling and cables never really sold themselves due to this. The PC-Card Clik! on the other hand is an attention getter and a class A design win for Iomega. Come to think of it, all the PC makers have to do is put in a PCMCIA slot in the front of their new boxes and then you cound easily move your Clik! drive back and forth from you laptop to your main PC and you could move your Clik! files from you Clik! camera to your PC or to a Zip disk for archiving simply with little fuss. Come on Iomega let your developers run with their imagination! Mel

Has an interesting comment on removable storage in an article on building your own "perfect PC".

>>Even in the age of CD-RW, we can't ignore the Zip. With 25 million Zip drives already in circulation, chances are someone will hand you a Zip disc in the near future; you'll need a way to read it. Enclosed in a hard plastic shell, Zip media is safer to carry around than CD-RW media<<

On p 63 in their Components Buyers Guide, they discuss removable storage more generally:

>>There are plenty of options available....and this month the new Castlewood Orb (2.2 GB) wins a Kick Ass award. But before you go for ultimate giggage, consider that in every machine, media support you might encounter is of paramount importance.
CD-RW media can only be read by modern multiread CD/DVD-ROM drives. DVD-RAM can only be read by DVD-RAM drives. The ORB is similarly egocentric. Of course Zip media can only be read by Zip drives, but because so many drives are in circulation, they've almost replaced the floppy. We simply won't touch a machine without a Zip drive"
