Correction:

I was not on the staff on the New England Journal per se, but was on the Massachusetts Medical Society's (MMS) Committee on Publications that oversees the business aspects of the New England Journal.
This is verifiable by taking any copy of the NEJM from about July, 1989 to June, 1990 and looking at the people listed. It is located directly behind "Case Records of the Massachusetts General Hospital" in most editions. If you use the word "staff" to mean a list of people associated with the NEJM and the MMS, then it is OK, but people should not think that I had any editorial responsibility whatsoever. The above committee is composed of volunteers generally chosen by the president of the Society and none of the individuals receive compensation from the NEJM.

Content and business are, and should be separate in any medical journal and the NEJM conforms to the highest standards. I do not want anyone to construe that I or any noneditorial person has any influence whatsoever as to what is published in the NEJM. I am familiar with how the journal works, how it is run, but not with any specific editorial content. Again, that committee oversees publication issues (business) and has no effect over content.

Furthermore, I do not and never have had, any personal influence
over any editorial content of that journal which is strictly separate from its business affairs, which are run by the Massachusetts Medical Society by the committee mentioned above and listed in the New England Journal of Medicine.

In addition, all my opinions are my own as an investor. I am not giving medical advice and my intent here is only to explain and respond to questions and statements regarding my personal investment.
