Morning partners, this should be read while humming,
Let's go to Rio, Rio de Janeiro,da,da,

"More unexpectedly, there is a very fast growing section of this buying group who buy fancy colored diamonds and never intend
to wear the stones themselves or have their names known by anybody. The unique concentration of wealth per carat, the
fascinating beauty, and the fact that they have never gone down in value since prices have been regularly recorded make fancy
blue, pink, red, green, purple and yellow diamonds the most singly unique and private forms of wealth known to man. "

"NEVER GONE DOWN IN VALUE SINCE PRICES HAVE BEEN REGULARLY RECORDED"
Gee, must be a money launderer's dream! I bet they don't mind paying a healthy premium right on the spot to these local miners. One would have to think there must be a lot more of these "fancies" being found in the rivers in and around our Canabrava project that are never reported.

"The attraction of Brazil is its long history of production of high quality alluvial diamonds. It is particularly notable as a source of very large gem quality stones. Canabrava's land position is mainly in western Minas Gerais State, the source of approximately 40% of the world's recorded largest diamonds, i.e. larger than 80 carats."(Yorkton Securities Mar/98)

"The Canabrava joint venture project covers an area of more than 50,000 SQUARE KILOMETRES in one of the richest diamond areas of the world. Brazil is known for the high quality of its diamonds, the high gem content of its alluvial deposits, the high percentage of rare colored stones, and for the production of a significant proportion of the world's largest diamonds." (2nd quarter report 97)

"During the course of stream sediment sampling diamonds have been recovered from 32 streams within the Canabrava joint venture area. In the Lagamar Block, thousands of diamonds have been recovered (60% gem quality) from small streams and laboratory studies indicate two distinct populations. One of the diamonds populations is comprised of pristine crystals exhibiting minimal transportation. ( annual report /97)
A pale brown 37.85 carat diamond was found on the Quintinos property (Abaete river) in /97.
A 24 carat gem quality diamond was found on the Patos property in /97.
The 165 carat Princessa do Carmo came from the Formosa property."

Alluvial production figures should be starting to flow from Canabrava's joint venture with Paramount Ventures on the Rio do Sono property at any time.If these numbers are good it can only enhance the potential of the Canabrava project for pipes and alluvial production (which I have read but cannot find the source) is estimated to be in the 500 million cubic metre range for alluvial gravel resource.(if anyone knows where I can find that number please post it)

Well, Southern Era is their now and they will be digging trenches, an 80 carat red fancy has been reported 10 km down stream. If this diamond is the one with the asking price of 34 million(can't find where I read that number either) then there is a good possibility of trenching giving up something similar. This alone would equate to 50 cents a share for Canabrava and Suf! The market may be able to shrug off one as "luck" but give up a couple and watch out!-mike
