Gonna be a lot of hell mixed in with 56K. The system just isn't designed for it.

The biggest data draws are opening new pages and signing on. And dragging a new symbol to a Market Maker window, especially when this window has multiple links to other windows like charts and time&sales.

Next biggest draw is high tick-volume stocks.

These things will tax your connection through-put -- your computer has enough resources to keep up with it.

I've heard a good suggestion recently for the connectivity-impaired:

Get Q-Charts from Quote.com and the order-entry-only service from CyberTrader. Don't know how this has worked out for anyone.

Q-Charts delivers the same amount of data in what some say is a superior format while using a fraction of the bandwidth that RealTick uses. I also saw some problems posted on the Q-Charts thread (with the djia index quotes) so you might want to check there.
