Thats a very good point and you are correct. Since I use to be in the shipping industry, whenever crude went up we initiated the infamous "BUNKER SURCHARGE". I will try to find out out from friends
if such occured again and the amount of the surcharge.

As to the exact level it did vary from year to year in light of how well the shipping conference/lines negotiated with the importers/shippers.

Will try to get back to you as soon as I can on that.

Hi Les; Not always sometimes logistic contracts are out forward
and the run up in fuel cost has to be eaten for a while.
It can play hell with margins and profits the linkage to the
market is not all that close. It does come home in time but
it's played down as long as they can window dress earnings and convince every one things are just fine.
