FWIW, I started my Y2K stockpiling last week. Basically, all I have so far is some extra drinking water, but will be adding some new supplies every week from now until the end of the year. I went to buy a generator at Sam's today, but someone was in the process of buying the only one left of the kind I wanted i.e. rated 5000 Watts. Enough to run a refrigerator, cooker and some lights. They said they will be getting some more within a week or two. At Home Depot, they have the same model, but it is $800 instead of $500 at Sam's! I have a question. For those of you with generators, what are you going to use to store gasoline? If the supply of gasoline is disrupted, then the generator becomes useless. To be safe, I guess it will have to be underground? Any suggestions?
