Large diamonds, small diamonds, who cares so long as they are all macrodiamonds !!! I believe that they are all sourced from the stability field. Microdiamonds on the other hand can have a completly different genesis. The actual emplacement of the kimberlite body (ie: a pipe) can create microdiamonds. However Snap shows little evidence of an explosive emplacement. What this means is that the presence of micros would enable one to talk about equivalent microdiamond grades in a meaningful way and not to have to worry about alternate sources and this is probably exactly what WSP management is doing when they look at their CF results. Dont forget kimberlites and diamonds have very little to do with each other. Kimberlites are like buses their everywhere. Only the pipes/fissures/sills etc.. that travel through the stability field have any chance of picking up diamonds.
