As specifically as possible, I'm always on the lookout for what I think the journalism folks refer to as 'profile' articles. A reporter spends a few days hanging around at a company and then writes about what he/she has observed. This makes subscribing to magazines like Wired, Upside, and Red Herring worth it to me, even though I think they're pretty lousy in most other respects. RH, for example, is very light weight at what it trumpets as its core competency, that being the business of high tech. They don't hold a candle to the Wall Street Journal, which unfortunately is still trying to convince itself that technology is a legitimate area of investigation. Wired and Upside are almost scandal rags and engage in adolescent 'who or what is cooler than cool' games. BUT, each from time to time, does the profile thing. Forbes ASAP is probably my number one choice in terms of combining technical education for the layman and business/technology combinations.
