The only thing i did not mention is that Greenspan would not allow a market to tank without giving any support. However, if he feels it is not due to a normal market condition (inflation, interest rate fears, valuation) and only due to Y2K----my feeling is that he will intervene.
I guess it would be better to jump on board (short side) only for the first little while leading upto about september or october. Beyond that better to be neutral or bullish. Maybe.

I am going to miss the action tomorrow. It is going to be interesting.

My 401(k) fund - one of the biggest - Oppenheimer Main St - actually did exactly what you're saying - they sold a ton of MSFT this past Spring to due to the DOJ suit - the darn Clintonistas - and they won't buy the stock back until the case is settled

- so yes - there will definitely be those who sell
