Dave, I think we need to be more careful these days with the 25 day quiet period plays, i.e. pick good underwriters and stocks that don't run too far prior to the end of the quiet period. A lot of people do not pay attention to ipos. But when a couple of major brokers come out with buy recs on a stock in the same day, people are going to notice. As long as the market stays healthy I think we can continue to make money betting on the buy recs for good companies.

I think SRCH and EDGR will do ok this week, but NPLS will do better next week. It has everything going for it GS as the underwriter, in internet and telecom infrastructure and making money. I have a far amount of it already, well by my standards anyway, maybe not yours :), and may buy more this week.

CD .. <<sure makes the market fun >>

Yep .. seems like whenever you figure out something
that is working that the 'game' changes .. maybe
getting close on the 'quiet period' plays .. still
not easy to 'short' though so the long 'bias' should
help .. but I agree that it is becoming too 'popular'
on the SI threads ..
