<o.t.>G'day all - promise this is the last for me on the subject <G>. Part of me agrees with you, Steve. I guess I share Ron's disgust too - especially when MSNBC has absolutely nothing to say [kudos for CBS 60 Minutes though] No, I do not consider them the American royalty. And indeed, had JFK lived long enough, he could have been the heavy of the whole Vietnam policy [instead of having LBJ and Nixon holding the bag!] It is true that this case has overshadowed the local news - so happened to have a missing woman case in progress, although I do believe the people involved in that case are no less diligent. Media saturation aside, and granted that there may be more searchers in this particular case than usual - probably a lot more, I do believe that people are basically compassionate and capable of seeing the good side, if they for a moment put aside their ideological identities, left or right. In that sense, to give the Kennedys their due respect, i.e., they are flawed individuals with similar hopes and losses like you and I, is no more and no less to believe there is a chance of incremental change among the Chinese leadership. So, no, life is not fair. I agree. But this is not about the Kennedys, but about the Americans. Whether the Kennedys are popular or not, they are still Americans. The same goes with the Vietnam War. Now, to give the vets due credit is all the rage, but 2 decades ago, they were left to fence for themselves. Had the general public been able to see that they were human too then, maybe, just maybe, some would not have been as traumatized now. So, you see, this is not about fairness, but about repose best, Bosco
