Of course I have- I own all the Peter Whimsy's and Father Browns and Agatha Christies and several other British mystery novels. But they are happy books- the crooks always get caught and punished, all is inevitably right with the world at the end.

A while back Christopher and I were discussing whether Gaudy Night was her best. We both enjoyed it very much.

BTW, have you read any of Rumer Godden's work?
