Steve - RE: "Just one question. When you and other AMD posters talk about delivering 650Mhz etc., are you talking "systems"? I may be wrong on this ( correct me if I am, Paul ) but when Paul talks about Intel delivering, he is talking about "systems" in volume."

The way I see AMD's saying 650 in Q3 and 700 in Q4 is that I expect 650 to everywhere in Q4 and 700 to be here or there, but not everywhere in Q4.

"The K6 inventory is proof that building CPU's does not always translate into profits."

Yup, especially when the ASP of those chips will only be <$60 compared to the Athlon's ASP which will probably be >$300.

"The infrastructure, from MB's and chipsets to demand and marketing, must all be there as well."

I think demand is still a question. The Intel loyalty in the high end of the market hasn't been tested before.

"Just want to make sure we are comparing apples to apples here."

We are, but I may think AMD is a Gala apple while you may think AMD is a Washington apple!
