In economics, there is a model called 'the stadium problem'; it's a lot harder to get out if you wait until the crowd wants to leave at the same time.

"Stadium Problem"-is this scenario known under another name and can you site empirical references and authors that speak to this problem.

Just interested in reading the various analyses on this topic.

Thanks.

While I have enormous respect for Buffett, a man I regard as having the greatest investment record at least in the modern era, he has religiously shunned technology.

If any investor eliminates the fastest growing sector of the economy and rigorously adheres to a value strategy, then it could be more difficult to find value than for those who're willing to start their search in the whole market.

FWIW,
Ian.

JF Q: re:< leave some on the table for the next guy >

I'm starting to feel better about lowering my equity allocation from 100% to 62% last January in the DOW 9600's and lowering it again to 32% when the DOW rallied into the DOW 9600-9700 area during the spring season.

Perhaps I'll change my name to BERNARD from STAMFORD, CT.

I also have avoided being in stadiums lately.

P :-))
