Re: "Being optimistic does not make someone a liar."

Of course it doesn't. But if you were a weatherman and you predict good weather when you see a hurricane bearing down on you, are you being optimistic? What about the people who depend on your forecast? Jerry knew yields were bad and the facts bear this out. He lied to shareholders and he has 17 law suits (Pauls numbers) to face regarding this. The amazing thing is you continue to believe whatever he says. Truely amazing!

<Being optimistic does not make someone a liar>

That is your spin on events.

However on one occasion AMD management stated a blatant lie. They asserted to the shareholders and the investment community that the AMD 486 microcode was a 'clean room implementation' without any knowledge of Intel 486. In subsequent legal proceedings it was clearly established that the AMD 486 microcode was an obvious copy of the Intel 486.
Needless to say AMD had to payoff several shareholder lawsuits for the above deception.
My gut feel is that Sanders lies are at a peak when his back is to the wall. With Raza's resignation Sanders is resorting to his hype to protect his skin.

I sincerely believe that Raza quit because he wanted to downsize AMD's fabs to reduce AMD overheads, and cut AMD's break even revenue point. Sanders, the perennial optimist, could not consider it. He is a gambler and is betting the company and all the shareholders money, for his last roll of the dice. Raza was more pragmatic and wanted to keep AMD alive if the K-7 ramp does not meet Sanders wild dreams.

I know that I will be roasted by the AMD fans, but I cannot divulge my reasons for the above assertions.
