Well of course that is the object, and of course the supreme virtue of clarity is missing. But it has something.... You know, I think you've got it-- it's a sermon, isn't it? I only read the paragraph, I have no idea, having missed so many posts recently, of who the writer is, what the full work was, nothing like that. It wouldn't be the same if you read it aloud and forgot what it was supposed to mean, though. I like it. I wouldn't be up for 300 pages of it, though, that's true. The humor and charm would wear off after 3 or so, I suspect.
