May be a "formality" but is a costly one. The company has to call a special meeting, prepare a proxy statement and mail to all shareholders. That is expensive. The company could mail the proxy statement with the quarterly report to save some money. I just don't think another split, by itself, is so important that the expense is worth it. I also believe that the company wants to keep its price relatively high--above $100--so there is no reason to split until the price is above $200/share and fairly assured of staying there.

What goes up can go down. Heavy volume this morning, and the stock is down over 1. Looks like a tech selloff. Nasdaq down over 27; Dow down over 30.
