* Financial-services giant Citigroup booked a 2Q profit before items
of $0.71, up from $0.57 in the year-ago quarter and a 6 cents above the
First Call consensus estimate. Citgroup took a one time charge related
to restructuring costs which reduced its quarterly results to $0.70.

* Eaton Corp (ETN) turned in a solid 2Q performance, earning $1.71 per
share versus $1.57 per share in 2Q98. The results outpaced the First
Call consensus estimate of $1.58.

* Continental Air (CAL) earned $1.80 per share in 2Q, down from 2Q98
results of $2.06. The First Call consensus estimate was $1.73.

* Lexmark International (LXK) beat the Street's expectations with
2Q earnings of $0.55, up from $0.38 in 2Q98. A survey of 10 analysts
by First Call predicted the firm would earn $0.49 in the 2Q.

* Novellus (NVLS) booked a 2Q net in-line with expectations at $0.31
compared to year-ago earnings of $0.46.

* Dominion Resources (D) reported 2Q earnings of $0.61 which was even
with year-ago results and a penny ahead of the First Call consensus
estimate.

* Bank of America's (BAC) 2Q earnings improved to $1.15 from $1.13 in
the year-ago period. The First Call consensus estimate was $1.14.

* Priceline.com (PCLN) booked a narrower-than-expected 2Q loss before
items of $0.10 versus a loss of $0.17 in the same quarter one year ago.
The First Call consensus estimate called for a loss of $0.11. PCLN's
loss after items widened to $0.29 per share.

* Delphi Automotive (DPH) reported a 2Q profit of $0.69 per share versus
earnings of $0.18 in 2Q98. The results were slightly ahead the First
Call consensus estimate of $0.68.

* Legg Mason's (LM) FY00 earnings rose to $0.54, up from $0.41 in FY99
1Q and above the First Call consensus estimate of $0.47.
