You know all those arguments that 3dfx has been putting forth to try and debunk the "more is better" syndrome? Well AGN3D posted a link which actually supports it.

<<16 meg TNT2 vs. TNT2 32meg - 1999-07-19 12:20:44 - José Ayala
The blokes over at The Tech Zone have posted a comparative article that takes
a look at two versions of Diamond Multimedia's Viper V770 video cards. One
has 16 MB of video RAM, while the other has 32MB of video ram. Here's a small
part from the article:

I also overclocked both cards to see if one can overclock higher
than the other. After all the benchmarking was done I sat down
and played some real games with the cards to see if I could "feel"
a difference. The bottom line was I really couldn't. If you were to
sit me down and tell me the computer has either the 16 or 32 meg
card and ask me which card was in the computer by playing a few
games, I wouldn't be able to tell ya.

I KNOW I'm lazy, so I never buy anything based upon the rebate price. IMO, rebates are a way to increase impulse. Having been an impulse salesman for 4 years, I try to limit my susceptibility to impulse. when I fail, and purchase something with a rebate, I have yet to actually mail it in. It's amazing, but that's why you'll see disks for $10 with a $10 rebate.
