The Washington Post is reporting the risk-taking behavior, as well. "Remarkable Risk-Takers: A Clan Chooses the Edge. JFK Jr. Displayed Own Brand of Boldness," a headline article above the fold on page A-1. "John F. Kennedy Jr. did not only fly single-engine planes, he also owned a motor-powered paraglider that looks like a contraption out of a Willy Wonka movie. He loved to kayak in rough waters and dive in deep seas. On a recent trip to South Dakota he asked park officials whether he could rappel down Mt. Rushmore. They said no, too dangerous."

Reading between the lines, although he was handsome he was a bit of a lightweight. His magazine was not doing all that well, as one might expect - I read it once out of curiosity, or tried to, but it was vapid. I don't think that having to take the bar exam three times says much for one's mental acuity, his sister passed on the first go-round. If he were not a Kennedy, no one would have paid much attention to this at all.
