Yiwu, even if we won't send American troops to defend Taiwan, one thing we have done, and will do, is sell arms to Taiwan, and if a military confrontation between Taiwan and China occurred, some would wish to give Taiwan arms, although Clinton would't. Obviously China is much stronger, but is military action necessary? Why now? Is it because it is more likely than not that China understands that Clinton won't support Taiwan, and George W. Bush, who is likely to be the next president, would?
