Jeff

What's so surprising about the JFK broadcast? The media plays by only one rule.. ratings. I think JFK got the ratings. Are you under the illusion that the media listens, and acts under some higher standard?-g-

palease!

Jeff, I totally agree. Especially when there wasn't any new news.

I have noticed, in general, not just with this story, that whenever the news teams get anything to report, they milk it forever. We had the same deal with the serial killer captured in Texas. Yes, I think that is worth interrupting regular programming for a 5 minute story. I don't think it is worth 3 hours of watching his plane take off in El Paso and land in Houston and him walking in custody around the airport. Really dumb.

But, then, I was the guy who said, O.J. Simpson, who cares? <g>

Jeff, I think part of the fascination is his life is a real life fairy tale. It is easy to get caught up when you turn on the TV . The family does have quite a record of accomplishment and tragedy perhaps unparalled in American history. Mike

Maybe most people weren't watching all day long? I went about my business, and from time to time turned on the TV just to see if there was any news. There were only a few channels which ran the story continuously (I have cable), and even those broke for headlines and other news.
